Vespel ® SP & SCP grades are high performance polyimide materials which are formed from resin manufactured only by DuPont. 

Vespel ® CR formulations are also available which utilize carbon fiber additives and Teflon ® PFA for challenging applications in chemical processing and semiconductor applications.

Vespel ® is available in sheet, rod, tube and custom machined parts.

Vespel ® SP, SCP & CR Grades & Key Properties

DuPont ™ Vespel ® SP & SCP Polyimide materials are characterized by a ring-shaped molecular structure containing Nitrogen. These grades are one of the highest performing engineering plastics currently available. They will not melt and can operate continuously from cryogenic temperatures to 550°F (288°C), with excursions to 900°F (482°C). Vespel ® SP & SCP parts consistently exhibit superior performance in a variety of applications requiring low wear and long life in severe environments.

Vespel ® CR PFA Grades 

  • DuPont ™ Vespel ® CR-6100 - is a composite material designed for use in hostile chemical environments. Stationary parts in this composite material meet the following specification per API STD 610/ISO 13709, Centrifugal Pumps For Petroleum Petrochemical and Natural Gas Industries:-46 to 230 °C (-50 to 450 °F) temperature limits and 2,000 kPa (20 bar; 300 psi) limiting pressure differential per wear part linear measure of 25 mm (1.0 inch). 
  • DuPont ™ Vespel ® CR-6110 shapes are a carbon-fiber filled thermoplastic fluoropolymer that have outstanding performance in aggressive wet chemical / plasma conditions and elevated temperatures.
