TECAFORM® POM Acetal Key Properties
POM plastic is a semi crystalline thermoplastic with high mechanical strength and rigidity. TECAFORM Acetal polymer has good sliding characteristics and excellent wear resistance, as well as low moisture absorption. The good dimensional stability and particularly good fatigue strength, as well as excellent machining ability, makes POM polymer a highly versatile engineering material, even for complex components.
A distinction is made between acetal homopolymers (POM-H) and acetal copolymers (POM-C) in regard to their properties. Due to its higher crystallinity, the properties of POM H include a slightly higher density, hardness and strength. POM C material, however, has higher chemical resistance and a lower melting point than POM H.
